PnyxCMS

A clean, lightweight PHP CMS. Open source and EUPL licensed.

A small CMS that stays out of the way

PnyxCMS is a modular PHP content management system built for speed. Flat-file pages render in a few milliseconds using 2 MB of memory, and a heavily formatted 70 KiB Markdown article from the database averages 28 ms on a low-power Celeron box. It runs comfortably on the cheapest shared hosting or VPS.

Everything beyond a small core (10 PHP files, 23 KiB, under 800 lines) is a component you enable in a single manifest file: libraries, payloads, signals, modules and snippets, brought up in runlevels the way a Linux system boots. No framework and no build step required.

PnyxCMS is free software under the EUPL 1.2, built with privacy and client respect in mind: GDPR compliant, no trackers, no cookie banners required, and it honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

What's New?

PnyxCMS goes public

After sixteen years of private development and use, PnyxCMS is now open source under the EUPL 1.2.

The first public release includes the core, the dependency resolver, date and text processing libraries, the Do Not Track and page tags payloads, and the main, posts and simple pages modules. The main module is MIT-licensed, so you can use it as a starting point for your own modules under any licence.

More components will follow from production sites running PnyxCMS, as they are migrated into mainline.
